Command line usage for sites

This table lists site commands:

Command Output
showroot (UNIX/Windows) Displays your current root and site.
cd $HCIROOT (UNIX)

cd %hciroot% (Windows)

Moves to your current root.
cd $HCISITEDIR (UNIX)

%hcisitedir% (Windows)

Moves to your current site.
hcisiteinit Creates a new site within the currently-selected root.
hcisiteinit newsitename The specified site cannot already exist. The standard set of directories are created within the new site.
hciguisiteinit This utility can only be used if the client software is loaded.

For Windows clients on Windows or UNIX hosts, you must use the Site Init tool.

For a UNIX client with UNIX hosts, use a shell window and the command hciguisiteinit or hcisiteinit.

setroot

Selects a system release root, and possibly a site, in which to operate.

setroot [rootdir [site]]

The specified rootdir must be a valid system release root. The site, if specified, must be the name of a site within the selected root.

If no root is specified, then the contents of this file is used to find the name of the default root: /cloverleaf/cis6.1/integrator/productinfo/default.

If no site is specified and the selected root’s rootInfo file has a site= entry, then that site is automatically selected.

setsite Selects a site directory within the currently selected root.
setsite site The selected site must be a valid site within the current root.
showroot Displays the current settings from previous setroot and setsite commands.
